Unusually shaped pair of chairs. Beautifully upholstered in a silk moirée with a green velvet ribbon trim. Earlier paint layers of ochre and duck egg blue remain. SOLD.
Finely portrayed French gentleman. He is wearing the Decoration of the Lily which was a medal awarded by Louis XVIII for fidelity to the crown during the revolution. (Napoleon had abdicated in 1814.)
