These two large, heavy samovars (similar but not a pair) would have probably done service in an hotel. A pot of strong brewed tea was kept warm on the top and hot water added from the samovar. Been having some technical hiccups, so apologies for no updates in the past week or so. Hopefully all resolved. I am posting a new photo of this lovely painted chest of drawers to better show the amber-pink colour (painted in the 1950’s) with a creamy white trim. The handles were replaced mid century. It is a solid and charming piece, with ample storage. Price £795.

French water colour of a young girl
A serious young French girl, framed. 33cm x 41cm. Price: £95
Sturdy French 18th century chestnut table, fully treated and later painted in chalk paint – blue grey base and darker grey top – with wax finish. Decorative apron on all sides. 72.5cm high x 71cm deep x 120cm wide. Price: £495.
Large French over-mantel with shelf
This over-mantel has been restored, and new mirror plate/beading fitted. Decorative columns and carved panels. Deep shelf above. It is a heavy piece and could be supported by a wall-fixed batten. Original grey paint with a little new paint touched in. Price now £195.
