I love this portrait – the French gentilhomme has had to live at my house for a while before I was ready to part with him. Lovely detail to this oil painting. Bluey greys, gold and white. Sometime in the 19th century however it was mounted in a frame behind glass, with resulting small specks of paint having moved off the canvas and onto the glass. The charm of this portrait remains undiminished. SOLD.
